Well, now you can do just that!

This mod allows you to view a static map of your world, which will show you where your friends are and where the different items are.

The map can be viewed in a variety of ways. You can see your world in a simple way, where the different areas are displayed in different colors. Or you can use a more detailed mode, where the map is split into different areas, and each area is displayed in its own color.
